Purchase new PC, with sufficient SSD disk space to run Windows 10 (with plenty of room) and the Virtual machine. Switch off old laptop (hopefully for the last time)Ĥ. Use this program to create virtual image of the existing old laptop onto a USB external hard disk or some other type of external storageģ.
Install VMWare convertor program on old laptopĢ. This is the way it was done (thanks to my IT specialist (son)).ġ. The whole lot on a machine with Windows 10 OS. I am currently running AutoCAD 2002 on a virtual machine with OS Windows XP, and Quick Basic on a virtual machine with OS Windows 98.
